Galop - Hate Crime Report Comparisons
After taking a look at the 2020 hate crime report, I thought I would take a look at some of the other reports that they have kept over the years to see how their graphs/research has changed. I noticed straight away that the way they keep track of their research has changed in terms of graphs but using the colours to allocate certain areas are still the biggest part of categorising findings which I find really helpful as these findings could become useful when it comes to the shoot on the 20th Feb as we want to allocate different poses or ways to show abuse throughout the short clips.
The very first coloured graph shows how hate crime is within certain boroughs in which red is the worst hate crime in that area and green is where there aren't many cases occurring at all which is a very good thing but it shows that we all still need to work on making sure hate crime will no longer exist. On photo 3, there are words that have been reported by various people that have been interviewed in which they have been called whether it was one word or a whole sentence. This proves just by seeing the words, how hurtful these words could be to someone within the LGBTQ+ community and how there are some people who don't think before they speak. For our shoot, we need to realise that there are many types of abuse and whether we want to focus on one or more than one.
